Role in CARE Study

I serve as the Director of the Resilience Clinic, one of the interventions being studied as part of the CARE Study. Based at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland in their primary care clinic, the Resilience Clinic is a program for caregivers of young children (ages 0-5) who have experienced adversity. This program teaches caregivers ways to manage stress, promote their children's well-being, and strengthen relationships. The 6-session program uses materials from Circle of Security Parenting-International and Dovetail Learning and features interactive group discussions with other parents and mental health specialists; individual visits with healthcare providers to check on their child's health and development; and parent-child activities led by a developmental specialist.

Why I'm Excited About CARE

I believe every child deserves a chance to develop their full potential no matter what difficult circumstances they may encounter. By partnering with their caregivers, I hope we can create strong and supportive relationships all around our children, because this is what helps children to thrive.
