Nicki Bush, PhD
Role in CARE Study
Dr. Bush is one of the Principal Investigators on the CARE study. She is a child clinical psychologist, and her research investigates the ways in which contextual experiences of adversity can “get under the skin” by changing children’s developing biological systems, potentially shaping children’s individual differences in trajectories of development and mental and physical health. Discovering factors that protect families, preventing harm or promoting resilience through supporting strengths or providing family and community interventions, is a priority of her work.
Why I'm Excited About CARE
I am hopeful that the work from CARE will inform health policies to reduce population health disparities and other social inequities and to enable thriving across generations and communities.
