The Collaborative Approach to building Resilience in Everyone (CARE)
Adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are prevalent and associated with negative health and achievement outcomes. ACEs are especially common in economically disadvantaged communities of color and have been compounded by the COVID-19 pandemic. Early identification and targeted treatment of trauma are critical for mitigating risk for long-term behavioral, mental, and physical health conditions.
The Collaborative Approach to building Resilience in Everyone (CARE) program aims to identify measures associated with the development of poor health outcomes. CARE seeks to explore the effects of resilience-promoting interventions on health outcomes in children with high ACE’s and from diverse, low-income communities.
